Tachographs are type approved by manufacturers, installed in vehicles, activated and calibrated by approved workshops, they are then used by drivers and transport undertakings, checked by control officers, regularly inspected by approved workshops and it comes to a time where they have to be decommissioned because definitively out of order. Since these tachographs’ memories are nevertheless full of drivers’ data, how should they be decommissioned? This is the purpose of the guidelines made available in this section.
