The type approval procedure is fully described in the Chapter VIII of Appendix IB to the AETR. The documents made available in this section concern recommendations presented by the European Commission about the recognition of approvals given to test tools (to be used by approved workshops) as well as specific recommendations on the type approval of tachograph cards.
