Presentation of the Digital Tachograph
 
Key Elements

On this section you will find a precise description of all key elements of the digital tachograph system.
The tachograph is a control device recording and storing driver’s activities, as well as related data like vehicle speed, work location, events and faults, etc.
Any person who drives any of the vehicles described below, even for a short period of time or who is present in the vehicle and available for driving, shall use a tachograph.
Vehicles that should be equipped with a tachograph are:
  • Vehicles used for the carriage of goods where the maximum permissible weight of the vehicle including any trailer or semi-trailer exceeds 3.5 tonnes;
  • Vehicles used for the carriage of passengers which, by virtue if their construction and equipment, are suitable for carrying more than 9 persons, including the driver.
